This year I've made very few Christmas cards ... mainly because I'd just have so many to make that the task is just so daunting - I'd have to start on boxing day to be ready for the following Christmas & then it just becomes a chore PLUS I've been so busy with my handmade jewellery, people wanting various things making for christmas gifts ... so something had to give & I decided to commit the ultimate crime for a card maker & use shop bought cards - shame on me. But hopefully my friends & family will forgive me because i did buy some beautiful Art Deco style cards featuring those elegant ladies from the Clinton Cards. I LOVE those cards !
But here is one card that I made from flowers in the shape of a tree ... the paper flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the ribbon roses are from my stash along with the satin butterflies. A few beads & glitter ... a little bow ... & the die cut is my new Catalina Die from Memory Box.
The embossed backing is the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder .. & the oval that the tree is on is from an embossing folder - I just cut it out by hand. I've used some red crafters chalk to give a subtle pink blush to the background & the stamp was a free gift off a craft magazine.
The " tinsel " is jewellery wire ... I threaded on a few crimp beads which are small silver beads that that you squash flat with your pliers & they stay in place. The snowflakes are from a Cuttlebug die cut. The backing paper I printed out myself because I didn't have the right shade of pink in any of my paper stock. Can you belive that ?!!! I must have more paper than a paper mill in my cabin but the one shade of pink I wanted I just couldn't find ! ( eye rolling )
So here it is -
